ABOUT JEFF

Jeff Harris is raising money to pay for uninsured medical, maintenance and other extraordinary expenses associated with his spinal cord injury which has rendered him a quadriplegic. Jeff was treated in the neurological ICU in Norfolk, Virginia before being flown back to Philadelphia where he spent several months at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. The marriage of his “can-do” attitude and the assistance he’s received from friends and family via the Help Hope Live program have fueled his remarkable progress in the direction of an independent life. Since leaving Magee Rehabilitation Hospital he completed his bachelor’s degree from Temple in Landscape Architecture and a Masters Degree in City

Planning from the University of Pennsylvania. Due to the proceeds from the annual Curl-a-Thon, Jeff has been able to purchase and operate his own specially modified wheelchair lift van. All of this has allowed him to re-enter the work force at Orsatti and Stuart, a landscape architecture and planning firm located in King of Prussia. All the while remembering his family, friends and Magee for what they have done for his way of life, he enjoys giving back to them whenever able.

Eight years ago he moved out into his own apartment, albeit with the necessary, and very expensive, assistance of morning and evening aides. New to the workforce, it will be many years before his earnings come even close to matching just his condition-related extraordinary expenses. Jeff has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live provides both tax-deductibility to the full extent allowed by law and fiscal accountability to his contributors. Contributors can be sure that funds contributed will be used only to pay or reimburse medically related expenses. For more information, please contact Help Hope Live at 800.642.8399.
